Frequently
Asked Questions
What is the primary
design consideration of an OLT course: OLT courses are designed to meet the
needs of our students. We use the minimum technology necessary
to transfer the maximum content to the largest number of student
in the most effective manner possible.
How long does the
online Review & PassPrep Course take to complete? With over 800 questions and 4,000 interactive
screens it takes between 8 and 15 hours just to click through
all the right answer screens. If you follow our study recommendations,
after completing a pre-licensing course, you should click straight
through the online Review & PassPrep Course to determin where your strengths
and weaknesses are. Then concentrate on your weakest areas.
I live in California,
Texas, or some
other state. Can I take the OnLine Training Insurance Review & PassPrep Course?
Absolutely, yes you can. OLT has a generic Insurance Agent Licensing
Course designed for delivery in all 50 states and areas of the
USA. Your local regulations (state laws) may vary. But, the content
of over 95% of OLT course will be directly applicable to you.
Rules and regulation sections are being prepared for all states.
Florida, California and Texas sections have been developed.
Why buy an online
course from OLT, when there are other options. In most states it is mandatory
that a want-to-be insurance agent pass a state approved pre-licensing
insurance agent course. Normally 40 hours in length and taught
from a specific study manual. The OLT Review & PassPrep Course is designed
to meet a student's need for additional training.
So the answer to the
why question boils down to "because you feel the need for
more" than the 40 hour pre-license course. The more important
question, now that you have decided to buy more training, is
what should you buy.
OLT's course cost more
than $10,000 to develop. It has been valued in marketing studies
as worth between $75 and $150. One company in Texas valued the
course at $750. It is much more than a simple series of practice
questions. At a technical level it follows a cognitive learning
model that directly guides you through an interactive drill and
practice sequence that is about 2.3 times more efficient than
simple questions and answers.
Does that mean you
can learn the material in half the time? Probably not. But you will learn it
faster. And you will perform better on the state exam.
Pass Rates. The OnLine Training, Life,
Health and Annuities Insurance Agent Review & PassPrep Course currently has
a Pass Rate of 97%. OLT tracks pass rates. If a students
fails a state examination, the student is required to FAX the
results of the examination report to OLT. The report indicates
number of questions per content area, and number answered correctly.
OLT actively revises its online Review & PassPrep Courses to reflect current
examination practices. Fewer than three ou of every one hundred
students fail state examinations after using the Redding Method
and completing the online Review & PassPrep Course.
How much faster
will you learn
with the Redding Method? The answer is, you should learn between
20 to 40 percent faster, and you should be able to learn more
and retain the information better. During the beta testing my
ten year old daughter practiced with 25 questions. She was able
to score 100 percent right within 20 minutes.
How much better
will you perform on the state exam? Between 5 and 30 percent better. Of
course results will vary. If you routinely score above the 90th
percentile on such exams you will experience something closer
to a 5 percent improvement. But if you normally perform closer
to the 60th percentile, then you should experience something
closer to the 20 percent improvement.
How do I control
what I study?
The OLT Review & PassPrep Course includes a course map that permits you to
study only the material you need to study. Each of the 27 chapters
of the Dearborn Study manual are covered. Each question references
the page it was taken from in the study manual. It should also
be noted that most state's 40 hour pre-licensing courses follow
a similar sequence of instruction. However, the state exam in
Florida does not follow the book. Instead, it is broken down
into two sections of four units each. The OLT Review & PassPrep Course is
structured similar to the state examination. Using our Review & PassPrep Course
should leave you better prepared for the state exam and you should
be more comfortable taking the exam.
How long does the
Review & PassPrep Course take?
It depends on how well you know the material, and whether you
wish to learn Life, Health and Annuities. If you spend one minute
on each question, and go through all 800+ questions, it will
take you nearly 14 hours.
I am not from Florida.
Can I use the OLT Review & PassPrep Course? Certainly!
You can consider the OLT Insurance Agent Review & PassPrep Course to be a
90% solution for those that need to learn material associated
with Life, Health and Annuities.
Just curious is
there a reason why these questions are so easy? I mean the answers
sometimes are so obvious. Yes
there is. First, we design the front end of any section to be
easy in order to remove test taking anxiety. Second, the actual
test questions are not that tough. We could make the answers
tricky or more difficult. But to what purpose? Our design calls
for exposing you to only questions and answers that make sense.
Our content is structured so that all possible answers are taken
from the same chapter and are related to the same content. We
sequence the Review & PassPrep Course exactly the same way the state examinations
are sequenced. Our goal is to make the preparation process as
effective, and as easy as we can. If it seems easy, well, that
is because it doesn't have to be hard.
So, again, why should
you or anyone consider buying an OLT Review & PassPrep Course?
a. You feel the need
for more training and the OLT Review & PassPrep Course offers high quality
additional training.
b. You want to save
time and the OLT Review & PassPrep Course is a very efficient way to study
this material.
c. You want to improve
your performance on the state exam and OLT's course offers performance
improvement.
d. You want to practice
responding to question in the same sequence they will appear
on state exams and OLT's course follows the structure of the
Florida (and possibly other) state exam.
Why don't you just
tell me how much it costs?
The course is priced to sell nationally for $75 (Special, $49.95). Insurance companies and other
training companies may purchase multiple courses, in blocks of
10, 100, 200, and 500, at a significant reduction in price.
So it becomes a question
of what you want to buy and how much you want to pay. If price
is your primary consideration then you can purchase an online
series of questions and answers for less.
But, if your time
is of value to you, you want to optimize the learning
of this material, and you want to be able to sit for the state
exam with great confidence of passing the first time, then you
are invited to the OLT Insurance Agent Review & PassPrep Course.
