INSCE008 - Hurricanes and Their Impact on Insurance (2 hours)
The course will present a review of hurricane characteristics and forecasting, emphasizing policies insuring hurricane losses, coverage questions and underwriting changes since Hurricane Andrew of 1992. In addition, types of insurance policies, the impact of hurricanes on the insurance industry will be discussed.
INSCE010 Flood Insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program - NFIP (3 hours)
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) was established in 1968 by the National Flood Insurance Act to provide property owners with the opportunity to purchase insurance protection for flood losses and to encourage communities to implement and enforce measures to reduce future flood risks in special flood hazard areas.
This course fulfils FEMA regulations regarding anyone selling flood insurance under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Under these requirements, any Property and Casualty or General Lines agent who may sell a flood insurance policy are required to complete a one-time course related to NFIP.
INSCE011 Premium Discounts Mitigation Options (2 hours)
The Florida Legislature enacted a law requiring all residential property insurance companies to file with the Office of Insurance Regulation a range of premium discounts they propose to offer. Insurance companies issuing new homeowners' insurance policies, or the first renewal of a homeowner's insurance policy, must let policyholders know they can get discounts if they strengthen their homes against hurricane damage.
INSCE013 - Medicare Today (2 hours)
This class will inform the Agent on all aspects of the U.S. Medicare Program. After completion, the Agent will able to help his/her clients make decisions regarding their Medicare decisions. Topics include a history of Medicare, who is eligible, the different parts of Medicare, plan choices, covered services, participant costs, inpatient, outpatient and doctor's services, Medicare Advantage Plans, Prescription Drug coverage, MediGap polices, and more.
INSCE017 - Senior Suitability - Annuity and Life Insurance Transactions for Seniors (3 hours)
Insurance companies and Agents have responsibilities to the Senior consumers to make sure their recommendations are suitable. The Florida Legislature passed a law addressing the issue of annuity fraud and strengthening penalties against Agents who use predatory sales practices: Florida Statute 627.4554. Topics include Purpose, Definitions, Products, Ethical Considerations, Duties of Insurer and Insurance Agent, Education Requirements, Terms, Bookkeeping and Penalties. The different types of annuities offered for sale by most insurance agents are discussed. Four case studies are also included.
INSCE021 - Property and Casualty Insurance - Personal Lines (6 hours)
This course is designed as a continuing education course related to Personal Lines insurance. It provides 6 continuing education credit hours and is approved for agents and claims adjusters (not including public adjusters) holding the general lines license or the property and casualty license. Topics include: insurance terms and concepts, insurance contracts, automobile insurance, homeowners insurance, dwelling property insurance and flood insurance.
INSCE022 - Property and Casualty Insurance - Commercial Lines (6 hours)
This course is designed as a continuing education course related to commercial insurance. It provides 6 continuing education credit hours and is approved for agents and claims adjusters (not including public adjusters) holding the general lines license or the property and casualty license. The course covers the following 9 topics: Commercial Automobile Insurance, The Commercial Property Policy, The Business Owners' Policy (BOP), Loss of Business Income Insurance, Boiler and Machinery (B&M) Insurance, Crime Insurance, Liability Insurance, Transportation Insurance, and Surety Bonds. |
INSCE018 - 5hr Law and Ethics Update - Life and Health (5 hours)
This class satisfies the new State requirement that Agents complete a 5-hour update course every 2 years, which is specific to the license held by the licensee and covers industry law updates, premium discounts, ethics, disciplinary trends, industry trends, and suitability of insurance products. This 2-15 license online course is divided into 4 areas of study, including Regulatory Awareness, Insurance Laws and Updates, Ethical Requirements and Disciplinary and Industry Trends) with four multiple-choice Unit Quizzes and one Final Exam.
INSCE019 - 5hr Law and Ethics Update - Property and Casualty (5 hours) - Jeff King, Author/Instructor
This class satisfies the new requirement that Agents complete a 5-hour update course every 2 years, which is specific to the license held by the licensee and includes Regulatory Awareness, Insurance Laws and Updates, Ethical Requirements and Disciplinary and Industry Trends.
