GED Preparation

The OnLine Training course of GED preparation is designed to prepare people with at least an eighth grade level of education to pass the GED test (high school equivalency examination). For those that sign up an instructor will be available online to assist you when needed.

These Courses have been designed to be self-paced and self-guided as much as possible, but we recognize that questions come up that require help from someone else. Therefore, teachers are available. In addition, there will be a section where you can visit with others taking this course if you desire. Many times the best teacher is the collaboration of students working through the same problems together. It is strongly encouraged that you take advantage of this capability.

The GED test consists of five parts. OnLine Training offers a course in each.

Part 1. Writing skills - including the elements of standard English, sentence structure, and the parts of speech. A composition of approximately 200 words is also required.
Part 2. Mathematics - including basic arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
Part 3. Science - Including life sciences such as biology and physical sciences such as physics, chemistry, and earth science.
Part 4. Interpreting Literature and the Arts - This includes popular literature, classical literature, and commentary on literature and the fine arts.
Part 5. Social Studies - including Behavioral Science, U.S. History, Political Science, Economics, and Geography.

All five parts.
Individuals wishing to complete all five courses, may save $75 by enrolling in all five at one time.

Each of these five courses are core courses to OnLine Training's Basic Education series. You are invited to take any one, or all of the courses listed above. GED students are encouraged to take the courses in the sequence listed.

Our goal is to help students complete our courses and learn the appropriate material. As such we have established some basic Rules of Participation. Please click here to read about them.

Organizations, or school districts are invited to contact OnLine Training for special group rates.
