State of Florida

Life, Health, and Variable Annuities

Examination - Revised

ASI (Assessment Systems, Inc.) announced major revision to State of Florida Life, Health, and Annuities Exam effective August 1, 1999.

OnLine Training revised its online cram course, July 30, to match the ASI revisions and notified its current students to either test prior to August 1, or practice with the new cram course format before scheduling an examination.

Part of the Redding Method for test preparation addresses the fact that our memories are relational. That is to say, it is much easier to recall information in the same sequence we study the material, then to try and recall the same information in a jumbled sequence. OLT's pass rate is 97%, based on our ability to assist our students in committing material to memory, in such a way that it can be recalled easily during the state examination.

ASI is required by the state of Florida to maintain a pass rate - state wide - of 70%. Rather then rewrite test questions and coordinating them for approval and inclusion in State examinations, it is easier to reorganize the sequence of the examination elements.

ASI Revisions - effective August 1, 1999.

Generally, there were 17 content additions/changes to the state of Florida examination and major revisions to the sequence of chapter testing. With the release of the revision 14 Study Manual, the ASI state examination and the Study Manual had conformed to one another. That is to say, the sequence of chapter testing by ASI was generally the same as the Study Manual. i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, ... .

However, effective with the change August 1, the new sequence for chapter testing is as follows.

The new test sequence for the General Section, nine test units, 82 approved questions, is now Chapters 1 and 2, 13, 3, 4 and 5, 7, 5 and 6, 10 and 26, 11 and 12, and 8 and 9.

The new test sequence for the Florida Laws and Rules Section, six units, 18 approved questions, is now Chapters 27 and 28, 27 and 28, 4 and 9, 5 and 28, and 2.

The new test sequence for the Health Agent Section, nine units, 72 approved questions, is Chapters 1 and 2, 24, 3, 18, 17, 16, 14 and 15, 21, and 22.

The new test sequence for the Florida Laws and Rules Regarding Health Section (18 approved questions) is Chapter 27, 27 and 29, 27 and 29, 29, and 19 and 29, 20, and 2 and 25.

Where chapters appear more then once, it means that ASI has distributed questions from those chapters across more then one test unit.

The OLT cram course Course Map, available to those that sign up for the online cram course, provides a complete sequence of study in conformance with the August 1, release.
